How Domain Transfers Work
Follow these four steps to move your domain with confidence. Our process is designed to reduce friction, protect uptime, and keep ownership fully in your control.
01
Unlock Your Domain
Log in to your current registrar and remove the domain lock so the transfer can begin. This is usually found in the domain security or management settings.
02
Get the Authorization Code
Request your EPP or authorization code from your current provider. This code verifies ownership and is required for most domain transfers.
Transfer with clarity, control, and a premium support experience built for businesses, developers, and IT teams.
03
Submit the Transfer Order
Start your transfer through Velocity Host’s, enter the domain name, and provide the authorization code. Review your details carefully before checkout.
04
Approve and Complete
Confirm the transfer approval emails from your registrar when prompted. Once approved, your domain moves into your Velocity Host’s account for centralized management.
Before You Transfer
Make sure your domain is eligible before you begin. Most domains must be older than 60 days, use valid registrant contact information, and remain unlocked during the request.
For the smoothest experience, disable privacy settings only if your current registrar requires it for approval, verify that your administrative email is accessible, and confirm there are no pending disputes or registry holds on the domain.
